Objective Find and return the Scribe's Inkwell
Rewards: Either a lead for Desertgate or the Writ of Protection

WalkthroughEdit

So, I know someone who will write me a writ of protection... a scribe I met, in the village... but there's a problem. Always a problem. He can't create the document without the special ink the magistrates use, which he believes was in his house when it was burned. If there's any left, he'll draw it up for me, if not... well, I'm shit out of luck. The ruins of his house are in the Savannah, which is where I should start looking.

Head towards Thome's burned house which is to the east of Bayan and south of the Old Cart Workshop. Ensure the house is the correct one because there are two sites with burned housing in that area.

I should check and see if anything survived the fire.

There are two Rhinos here and three Baboons here to dispatch. Once they are taken care of, check in the three locked boxes inside the house to find the Ranger Precision Skillbook and the Scribe's Inkwell.

I'm not usually one to believe in miracles, but somehow the ink survived. I should deliver it to Thome, the scribe I met who said he'd draw me a writ of protection.

Head back to Thome's house. You will be confronted by Flora, Thome's ex-wife, and given a choice:

FloraEdit

Give Flora the Scribe's Inkwell.

When I tried to go to Thome's house I was confronted by Flora, his ex-wife. They've been divorced three weeks and I sense the wound is still fresh. In appeasement I gave her his inkwell, which she said destroyed quite a few of their things over the course of their marriage, and in return she showed me the entrance to an old smuggler's path into Hatmandor that completely avoids use of the gate I can't get through. Now, all I have to do is lie to Thome about his inkwell.

Go inside the house and tell Thome he couldn't find the inkwell.

The quest is marked complete.

ThomeEdit

Give Thome the inkwell. He is in his house.
